True Stories
Ask, seek, & knock.
04/12/2021Maureen tells us about her experience of seeking God:
I first heard the Word of God in June 1992 when we were invited to a dinner night, but nearly did not go as our children all had the flu and it was very cold by my husband Terrie said yes we would go as we promised. That was the start of my walk with the Lord.
I was baptised in October and received the Holy Spirit, with evidence of speaking in tongues – just as it is outlined in the Bible.
There have been times in my walk when I have had to learn patience, to keep praying and to keep knocking – but God has never left or forsaken me and his Spirit is always there to guide me. I am so grateful for this and the sacrifice his son Jesus made on our behalf.
Much of my walk is guided by my favourite scripture (Matthew 7 v 7-8): ‘Ask, and it shall be given you, seek, and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you. For everyone that asketh receiveth, and he that seeketh findeth, and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.’
I praise the Lord for teaching me that it is through prayer (asking) and reading His Word (knocking), that all prayers are answered. Without Him I would still be lost in this world.
